Florida PTO hours. A right or a privilege?

A few months ago I was hired for a 9 to 5 on salary pay. Now because of three dental appointments which made me about two hours late each time I am being moved to hourly pay. No actual reason was given to me why this change was made but it was made.
The companies policy on hourly pay includes NO PTO hours. No sick time, no vacation time, nothing.
Is acuiring PTO hours a right that should be given to me or is it just a privilege given to some workers?

Up to the employer. YOu have the right to appeal; and if unhappy, change jobs.
